Harinder Mahil, Coquitlam: Harinder Mahil retired in October 2021 as Regional Team Lead with the Professional Institute of the Public Service of Canada (PIPSC), a union that represents professionals employed by the government of Canada. He was Chair of the British Columbia Council of Human Rights from 1992-1997 and a Commissioner of the British Columbia Human Rights Commission from 1997 to 2002. From October 2021 to January 2025, he served as a Council Member of the College of Veterinarians of British Columbia (CVBC) which regulates the delivery of veterinary medicine in the province. Since 2010, he has been a Board member and Secretary of a federally incorporated not-for-profit foundation established in 2009. In 2022, the province of British Columbia honoured him for his volunteer activities with an Order of British Columbia. He is presently serving as an Associate at Simon Fraser University's Institute for the Humanities.
