Ravi R. Hira, KC

Ravi R. Hira, KC, Vancouver: Called to the bar in 1982, Ravi Hira, KC has practised law for over 41 years, primarily as counsel. During that time, he has served as Crown counsel, special prosecutor, criminal defence lawyer, commercial litigator and mediator to advocate for professionals in diverse fields. Ravi's practice includes complex commercial litigation cases, criminal defence cases, appearances as counsel on various Public Inquiries and administrative law cases. He has appeared in all levels of court in British Columbia and the Supreme Court of Canada. Ravi has spent 18 years on the Canadian Bar Association's national and provincial councils. He has also served as a Commissioner at the Securities Commission, a director of the British Columbia Law Institute and of the International Centre for Criminal Law Reform and Justice Policy, and a member of the UBC Senate. He has written and presented many papers at legal conferences, as well as co-authored a book on British Columbia criminal procedure.
