Prehearing Order

At a prehearing conference held on June 23, 2023 and on hearing Gagan Mann, counsel for the Law Society and Brett Vining, the motions adjudicator orders that:

1. The three day hearing scheduled to commence on July 11, 2023 is adjourned to October 30, 31 and November 1, 2023.
2. If the Law Society seeks to oppose the introduction of the Respondent's expert witness evidence of Trudi L. Brown, KC, they are to advise the Respondent by August 7, 2023 and written submissions on the issue may be submitted to the Panel, without interfering with and subject to the Panel's ultimate authority for how the hearing will be conducted, as follows:

           (i)  submissions by the Law Society no later than August 28, 2023;

           (ii)  response submissions by the Respondent no later than September 11, 2023; and

           (iii)  reply submissions by the Law Society no later than September 18, 2023.
